Here some guide if you want to pick jewel craft as your profession.
Go to Jewel Crafter NPC ( in big city, mnemos/ignea ), here i talk to NPC at ignea that located in clockwork quarter.
After learn the skill, you can open the jewel craft window interface with "J"
You can start crafting low purity copper abrasive that is used for crafting jewel prism, and then extract the prism with the 'prism extraction' skill to get gem shard, you will get random shard.
The materials, for low purity copper ore you can buy it from jeweler merchant npc or ingredient merchant,
for higher lvl ore you have to buy it from other player that gathering them (resource collector).
Then you can craft your gems :D, crafting gems have very long cooldown, 24hours cooldown for crafting Lucids.
For high level crafting formula ie.: lucid ruby and lvl 60 necklace, the formula dropped in dungeons and sealed crossroad.
